Kenya Day for Dennis

We are constantly working to raise funds for our sponsored child in Africa. He is called Dennis and is now 8 years old. Dennis lives with his mother and three other children.

The money that we raise at nursery for Dennis will go towards his education, helping to provide text-books, uniforms and school fees and will also be used at a Child Development Centre to provide health check-ups and any necessary medical care. The centre also helps to educate children in health and hygiene practices and provides them with nutritious lunches.

We are working with the organisation Compassion UK and have committed to raising £28 each month. If each child in nursery brought in just 50p a month, we could easily achieve this, whilst teaching our children to care for those in need. Throughout the year if you could send in any small donations with your child it will be gratefully received. Children will be able to put the donations straight into the money boxes for Dennis within their bases.

To help us to achieve this target we would additionally like to organise a Kenyan Day on Tuesday 19th October

Children can either wear clothes in the colours of the Kenyan flag (Black, Green and Red), Dress up as one of the ‘Big Five’ (Lion, Elephant, Buffalo, Rhinoceros or Leopard) or wear a football kit as football is Dennis’ favourite thing to do with his friends.

We will have Kenyan foods to try at snack time such as Coconut, Mango, Pineapple and Coconut rice and activities will be around the theme of Kenya.  We ask that children could bring a £1.00 donation for Dennis which will be added to parent pay or can be collected at base time.

Thank you so much for your continued support,
